"First Snow-Fall"

Here's a poem I wrote about winter when I was in Highschool:

I went to watch the stars tonight,

But not a star was there.

The first of winter's snowflakes

Were descending everywhere.

Tomorrow when the sun comes out,

Oh, shall they melt way?

Or will they stay to grace us

One more lovely winter day.

They cannot stay forever

As snowflakes on the ground.

They cannot retain for always

The perfect symmetry found.

The world in it's white splendor waits

Right outside my door.

And deep within my dreams last night

I longed for it once more.

I'm typing this from memory, and I think there may be a stanza missing. Hope you like it. -Kerry
